JULIACKS makes art comics, graphic novels about fantasy and loss, as well as construct performances, videos, installations, and 2dworks.
The narrative structure of the work is shaped through expressive mark-making, text as image, memory as a construct, and the page as a place for contemplation. From the comics stories JULIACKS derives multi-media works evincing an element of the tale as an idea to propel the construction of a particular moment.
JULIACKS current project is the production of a three-part graphic novel and derivative performances. The comic, titled Swell tells the story of Emmeline Grouse and her family in the midst of grief for Lucy, the sister and daughter of the family who has recently died.
In conjunction with this book JULIACKS is also generating a series of works related to memory.
Next year she plans to complete a performance-installation titled, Tomb and the Merging of the Deathless.
